Hello everybody! I’m Artist Dan Clyne and my website features my digital artwork, Video bytes, Illustrations, and sketchbook artwork.

I aspired to be an artist in High School in the late 1960s when the underground press movement started. My firt artwork was published in the Chicago Seed, after which I created rock posters for concerts at Chicago’s Aragon Ballroom. When the underground comics scene reached Chicago, I contributing to Jay Lynch and Skip Williamson’s Bijou Funnies. Then, in 1971, I published my own title, Hungry Chuck Biscuits, for Kitchen Sink Enterprises out of Milwaukee.

So, in my senior year I bought an airbrush and created an illustration portfolio. I received my first illustration commission on the day I finished high school. The year was 1974 and Watergate was roiling the country, so I accepted an offer to go to Mexico City and work in illustration and animation. Homesick after two years, I Returned to Chicago in 1976. My illustration career continued in Chicago until 2000.

In 1979, I married Judy Duschl. Our son, Dan Clyne, Jr., was born in 1982. Our marraige ended in 1995 but we are still friends.
